ARRIVING IN MIAMI

There are two major airports that serve the greater Miami area: Miami International Airport (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). The Miami airport is closer to the city itself and our festivities and the Fort Lauderdale airport often offers cheaper flights.

 

GETTING FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE CITY

If you are interested in renting a car during your stay, there are several places at either airport that you can choose from!

 

If you are not planning to rent a car, read on.

 

From Miami International Airport

There are a variety of options to travel from the Miami Airport to the city. If you are not planning to rent a car you have a few options:

• Take a cab - always an easy and dependable option. The rides are approximately $24.

• Ride the Miami-Dade Metrorail (yes, there is public transit!). Take the Orange Line towards Dadeland South. Trains run every 10-20 min and each trip is $2.25.

  • If you are staying at the Hotel Urbano, get off at the Vizcaya station. The hotel is an approximate ten minute walk from the station.

  • If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency, get off at the Government Center Station and transfer to the Miami MetroMover (free transfer). Take the Metromover towards Omni Loop and get off at the Knight Center Station. The hotel is an approximate two minute walk from the station.

• Let us know when you plan to arrive and we will help to organize a cab share with other people who will arrive at the same time. Hopefully this will save you money and get people to know each other before the festival begins.

 

From Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

There are a variety of options to travel from the Fort Lauderdale Airport to the city. If you are not planning to rent a car you have a few options:

• Take a cab - always an easy and dependable option. The rides are approximately $50.

• Let us know when you plan to arrive and we will help to organize a cab share with other people who will arrive at the same time. There are a variety of shuttles from Fort Lauderdale to Miami because many people take this exact trip! Hopefully this will save you money and get people to know each other before the festival begins.
