Alternate Options
Miami is an expensive city. In addition, our wedding weekend is one day after both New Year's Eve and the Orange Bowl. These events have unfortunately conspired to create expensive rates for hotels. The hotels we have picked are great options - comfortable and close to the action. If you are looking for something more afforable, though, then we recommend using Airbnb or VRBO. Airbnb and VRBO (if you are unfamiliar) are part of the "new" sharing economy and allow people to rent out space in their homes for people who need somewhere to stay. If you choose this option (which we can heartily recommend), there are a few locations you should focus on:

Miami Beach (south of 28th St) is closest to the ceremony and the beach

Brickell is closest to the hotels (which are a 15 min ride to the ceremony)
If you opt for Airbnb you can consider rooming with others you know to save even more money. We will provide more information about the guest list if it is helpful to share accomodations.
